Bryce Killen

Bryce is a passionate attorney whose dedication to clients shines through everything he does. Over the years, Bryce has helped clients with everything from forming new businesses and reorganizing partnerships, to establishing non-profit organizations, to tackling various licensing issues and lobbying local governments, to developing business and personal succession plans.

Bryce practices client-focused general counsel, providing tailored solutions for difficult matters with an emphasis on small business and estate planning. Bryce’s innovative style draws upon over a decade of experience in diverse practice areas such as corporate law, business litigation and estate planning, allowing him to see opportunities and provide perspectives overlooked in many cases.
By taking time to listen, and to understand his clients’ needs and goals, Bryce helps clients manage risks and stay focused on what matters most - their success. In business matters, Bryce regularly assists clients with the formation and organization of new businesses, resolving business disputes, and managing compliance issues. Bryce has successfully lobbied local governments to adopt new ordinances and business licensing opportunities for clients, and assisted businesses with navigating the sometimes complex regulations governing their industries.

In estate planning matters, Bryce works closely with clients to identify their goals and develop flexible business succession and personal estate plans to ensure clients’ final wishes are carried out accurately and with a minimum of administrative expense. By focusing on the client and taking time to thoroughly understand their individual situations and desires, Bryce is able to simplify the sometimes complex world of estate planning and help clients understand their needs and achieve their goals.

Early in his legal career, Bryce worked as a paralegal at Thelen, Reid, and Priest, and Perkins Coie in San Francisco, working on complex civil litigation matters. After relocating to the Santa Barbara area, Bryce worked with several smaller law firms gaining invaluable experience in corporate and estate planning matters, before finally partnering with Daniella Felix to form Felix & Killen, Attorneys at Law. Bryce is a graduate of the University of Texas, San Francisco State University and the Santa Barbara College of Law. When crafting solutions for clients, Bryce draws upon both his law school education and over 10 years of experience in diverse practice areas including corporate law, civil litigation, and estate planning. Bryce’s educational background and varied work experience allows him to bring fresh perspectives to business law and estate planning matters to help clients better understand the possibilities in any situation.

Bryce lives in Carpinteria, California, with his wife and two children, where he is a member of the Carpinteria Morning Rotary Club. When he’s not representing clients, Bryce enjoys volunteering in his community through local service organizations and the California Avocado Festival, soaking up rays at the beach with the kids, gardening and barbequing.
