Kim Katen Savo

Kim Katen Savo is a trial lawyer and storyteller who fights for the underdog, using vivid language and emotional connection to move jurors to help her clients. She brings intellectual rigor and emotional intelligence to every case.

Kim served as a trial lawyer at the Federal Public Defender for the Central District of California for twenty years before joining McElroy Parris Trial Lawyers, where she represents plaintiffs in serious personal injury matters, focusing on medical malpractice and products liability. She has obtained two eight‑figure settlements in products liability cases and is widely recognized by judges, colleagues, and opposing counsel as one of the top trial lawyers to practice in federal court in Los Angeles.

As a public defender, Kim developed expertise in the impact of trauma on brain function, as well as a broad knowledge base about the autism spectrum and neurodiversity. She graduated from UCLA School of Law through the Public Interest Law Program with a concentration in Critical Race Studies, after completing a master’s degree in English Literature at UC Berkeley and earning her undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College.

Kim and Ashley met at the Trial Lawyers College in 2008 and later joined the faculty, where Kim enjoys teaching and often presents with Ashley. She regularly uses Trial Lawyers College methods to bring clients’ stories to life for jurors. Outside the courtroom, Kim and her partner enjoy hiking, traveling, and visiting museums and dance performances.
