Neal is an estate planning attorney based in Carpinteria, California who specializes in helping families plan for the unexpected. Since being licensed in 2009, he has focused on trust-based estate planning, special needs planning, trust administration, probate, and trust and probate litigation. Neal routinely counsels his clients facing complex and diverse estate planning needs and works with clients to develop plans that help meet their individualized goals. Neal has practiced law since 2009 and is certified as a Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization.
Neal earned his Bachelor of Science, with honors, from California Lutheran University where he majored in Business Administration. Later, he rose through the ranks at a Fortunee company serving in diverse roles ranging from team supervisor through vice president where he had more than eighty direct reports. Neal decided to continue his education by attending law school at the University of Oregon where he earned his Juris Doctor, and served on the editorial board of the Oregon Law Review, and earned the Nancy Farmer Distinguished Service Award.
Neal is deeply connected to the Carpinteria community where his family has lived for more than 85 years. He has served as a board member and leader in several local non-profits and special districts including as past-president of the Carpinteria Lions Club, four term past-president of HELP of Carpinteria, and most recently was appointed as a Trustee of the Carpinteria Valley Cemetery District where he currently serves as Board President.
In his free time, Neal enjoys spending time with his family and friends, chasing after his young beagle Oakley, playing golf, and traveling. Recently, Neal made his second trip to Scotland where he he stood atop the Swilcan Bridge at the Old Course in St. Andrews.
