Great Military Law Experience!!!

SANTO MEHAS A Professional Law Corporation Donna Santo Mehas is a very professional lawyer, along with a very professional staff. I was searching for a lawyer familiar with military law, and Donna was the top of the search!! I needed a divorce attorney, and she has amazing military knowledge. S...he kept me up to date on everything and if I did not understand something she was very patient and explained in detail, until I completely understood the situation. When it came down to spousal support, a lump sum was not satisfactory, and Donna "fought" for me until I was awarded a lump sum and full monthly spousal support (we did not have children) and now I am able to live comfortably without worrying if I am going to make ends meet. If you need a professional lawyer, whether or not you need military law, consider Donna Santo Mehas, you will definitely NOT be disappointed!!

Retuned call

After calling 10...15 attorneys with voice mail or screening devices, Donna and her partner called me back and explained the costly pitfalls of my situation. I was very surprised by the effort.

Do NOT use her

This woman is very good at presenting herself as a caring professional until you engage with her on the case. Once she has you secured she essentially ignores the case, doesn't do her homework, has spotty knowledge of the case, doesn't know details, seems like she is just winging it in court. Very po...or communication, I was unable to get a hold of her throughout the proceedings, she avoided talking with me. Costly loss on my end. She seems like she is just burned out. AVOID.

I'm truly sorry that you were not happy with the services you received from our firm. I cannot respond with specifics to your very general claims as you left your review anonymously, which makes me suspicious that yours was not a legitimate review to begin with. Furthermore, I am bound by the Attorney-Client Privilege which would preclude me from discussing the details of your case in this public forum if you really had hired me. But your claims are very general in nature and you say nothing specific as to what I did wrong to you in representing you in a family law matter, thus it's difficult to take your review seriously. It appears to be "fake news". In August President Trump wrote on Twitter: "When you see 'anonymous source,' stop reading the story, it is fiction!" Should this rule be applied to you Mr. or Mrs. "anonymous"? Should we stop reading your story because it is fiction? We believe so. I don't think we ever actually represented you, and that's why you left your review under "anonymous". Our very experienced and highly qualified staff is instructed on setting up office appointments or phone conferences with our clients to deal with any type of problems that might arise relating to their family law matter. If you truly were our client we would have discussed this with you during our initial consultation and you would have understood this. We communicate directly with our clients to move their cases forward. There's no other way. We can't deal with a client's case without strong communication with our client. We make ourselves available to deal with our clients' family law issues, period. That's why you would hire us. We at the Family Law and Wealth Preservation Mediation Center work hard to succeed on behalf of our clients in all aspects of representation and I am certain we would have done the same in your case, if you really had hired us. If you had an issue with how your case was handled, you would have known to contact me directly rather than just defame me on social media. What you did really makes no sense but we wish you the best in all you do.

Great Family Law Attorney

I consulted with Donna Santo regarding my complex family law case and was immediately impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and experience. Throughout my case I was given status updates and was able to pick up the phone and contact Donna. I never felt lost during the process. Donna was abl...e to answer all of my questions and respond to all of my concerns. My ex wife went through several attorneys and even was self-represented for a while. Through all of this, Donna stayed the course, went to trial and we prevailed on all issues. Because of Donna’s ability to understand real property laws, ours was in another country, complex income tax issues, self-employment and corporation income components, breach of fiduciary duty in my case, we were able to present our well-prepared case to the court. Donna, through her vast experience, was able to give me my financial life back and has made it possible for me to plan for my future. Needless to say I am pleased with the outcome in my case and highly recommend Donna, and her very helpful staff, to anyone needing a professional Family Law Attorney in Ventura County. Dan G.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
