Biography
Scott Tanner is a partner and co-founder of Thompson Steinberg. He has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial and consumer/retail collections, debt litigation, debt settlement, creditor’s rights, and FDCPA, RFDCPA, TCPA, and FCRA compliance and litigation. Mr. Tanner has successfully represented both individuals and business entities of various sizes – ranging from small, mom-and-pop type local businesses, to major national and multinational corporations.
Mr. Tanner is a cum laude graduate of Chapman University School of Law, which he attended on a full merit scholarship, was a staff editor on the Chapman University Law Review, and received the prestigious CALI Award of Excellence for receiving the top grade in Wills and Trusts. Mr. Tanner has received both a Certificate of Concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution and a Certificate of Completion – 120 Hours of Mediation Training and Practice.
Mr. Tanner additionally holds a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in Sociology from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, which he attended on a merit scholarship and graduated with both university and departmental academic honors.
