My experience with Todd A. Brisco & Associates left me with an extremely poor impression of this firm's professionalism, diligence, and handling of documented disputes. I would strongly encourage anyone considering retaining this office to pay close attention to how seriously they engage with evid...ence that does not fit the position they have already decided to take. In my experience, I provided detailed correspondence and documentation concerning an ongoing issue. Rather than seeing careful engagement with the substance of what I raised, I received responses that I found remarkably dismissive and seemingly more focused on declaring the matter resolved than addressing the evidence in front of them. Most concerning, their correspondence represented that the underlying maintenance concerns had been addressed and the necessary repairs completed. I had repeatedly stated that the defective electronic front-door lock had not been replaced and continued to be a concern. The firm nevertheless communicated that its client's position was final and that further substantive responses would not be provided absent materially new information. The problem? The lock continued malfunctioning. I subsequently received repeated system-generated SmartRent alerts stating “Lock jammed!” for that same front door. Those notifications are documented and timestamped. That experience speaks for itself. Regardless of which side of a dispute an attorney represents, I expect competent legal representation to involve careful attention to documented facts, thoughtful communication, and enough diligence to distinguish between temporarily restoring access and actually correcting an ongoing malfunction. Instead, my experience was one of dismissiveness, defensiveness, and an apparent eagerness to close the matter while the underlying problem remained unresolved. Their correspondence also repeatedly emphasized what they and their client were not obligated to provide or discuss rather than meaningfully addressing several of the concerns I had raised. I found the overall communication unnecessarily rude and dismissive rather than measured and professional. That would concern me if I were considering hiring a law firm. An attorney's job is advocacy, but effective advocacy should still be grounded in a careful command of the facts. When subsequent documented events directly reinforce concerns that were previously dismissed, it raises serious questions for me about how thoroughly those concerns were evaluated in the first place. I have retained the correspondence and supporting documentation underlying my experience, including the firm's written responses and the subsequent timestamped SmartRent malfunction notifications. Based solely on my direct experience with this office, I would not retain or recommend this firm. I would want counsel who is meticulous with evidence, responsive to inconvenient facts, professional in communication, and interested in resolving the substance of an issue rather than simply declaring it closed.
