Richard J. Lee is a registered patent attorney licensed to practice law in California and to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has experience in high profile biopharmaceuticals and telecommunications patent litigation, as well as trademark and patent prosecution across different fields. From his time at the largest private law firm in China, King & Wood, Mr. Lee also has experience in corporate and intellectual property matters abroad. He also had the great honor to extern for the Honorable Kirk H. Nakamura and the late Honorable Robert M. Takasugi.

While Mr. Lee was earning his law degree from Chapman University, School of Law, he was awarded multiple Dean's awards and the ABA-BNA Intellectual Property Law Award. He represented the law school in mock trial and alternative dispute resolution competitions, even taking his team to the finals of the International Law School Mediation Tournament in Chicago. Finding avenues to serve the community and the law school, Mr. Lee founded several key student organizations while serving as an executive officer to many others. During his law school career, he also attended an international intellectual property program at Tsinghua University School of Law in Beijing, China through Franklin Pierce Law Center.

Mr. Lee has a formal technical background in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego. He has been published in the Journal of Bacteriology for his biomedical research on infectious diseases. Additionally, during his college years, Mr. Lee was also independently nationally certified as a Certified Medical Assistant and worked in physical therapy. Showing his broad range of expertise and knowledge, Mr. Lee had also been published in a trade publication regarding lithium-based battery and brushless motor technologies.
