Karel Raba, a co-founder of Holborn Law, is devoted to championing for his clients’ needs and a passionate contributor to the legal society. At Holborn Law, Karel directs the civil litigation department and shares jointly with Nesa Targhibi in handling immigration and corporate matters.
A native of Prague, Czech Republic, Karel moved to the United States at the age of seventeen to attend United World College USA, a distinguished international high school in New Mexico. After high school, he moved to Indiana to pursue a bachelor's degree at Earlham College with a double major in International Studies and German. Upon graduating from Earlham, Karel received both College and Departmental Honors---the highest honors awarded---and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa.
Following college, Karel began his legal career as a law clerk at Mirbagheri & Smith LLP, a boutique immigration law firm located in the Washington, DC, area. After two years of working as a law clerk, he pursued his Juris Doctor degree at Chapman University School of Law in Orange, CA, where he was awarded a full merit scholarship. In law school, Karel served as a Senior Notes and Comments Editor on the executive board of Chapman Law Review and published two notes. In 2013, Karel graduated cum laude with an emphasis in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution.
While in law school, Karel began working as law clerk for Lanak & Hana PC, a full service civil litigation law firm in Orange County. Following his admission to the bar, he continued his legal career at Lanak & Hanna as an associate attorney. Karel is active in the legal society and has contributed to multiple editions of the National Association of Credit Managers' Manual of Credit and Commercial Laws.
Karel brings a great advantage to Holborn Law with his experience in both immigration and litigation. His training in both fields provides him with the necessary knowledge required to successfully handle the crucial and often delicate needs of his clients.
