Susan is a very nice person but a very ineffective attorney. I hired her as she seemed to have ethics and a good moral compass for my riverside county case. Uncontested divorce with no children, only dispute was equitable division of debts and assets. I could rarely get a call back or an email return...ed and the last time we appeared in front of the judge I got reamed hard for being non compliant with deadlines when I ALWAYS sent updated documents and items. This case started in 2017 and is STILL going on. My I&E’s were never filed and it made me appear in a very bad light. The only thing that got accomplished on my case was getting a TRO against my ex and getting status dissolution so that I could FINALLY semi move in with my life. She never took initiative to get any info from my ex nor try to settle this out of court. $8500 later and countless emails later I said to hell with it and hired a new attorney (currently out of $7,000 and counting) to try to get this three ring circus solved. Then I get a bill from Susan for another $5000?! I’m beyond astonished considering she did nothing else for my case other than abandon it ultimately. This honestly adds insult to injury. I tried to justify her nearly nonexistent Existent communication as it being a one person show as she doesn’t have a paralegal (that I know of) but I also spent 10 years making excuses for my ex husband, it blows my mind that she has decent reviews on Avvo, maybe she is better with Orange County cases. Who knows.

Susan have save my life. I was in a horrible divorce and my ex was "taking me to the cleaners" , she wanted everything. I was referred to Susan by a family member who is a lawyer herself, and said that Susan was the toughest lawyer they've ever work against!!! Susan was able to turn the judgement on ...my case to shared custody 49/51% and my ex was ordered to pay me spousal support. Susan's fees are very reasonable and fair. My life was upside down and inside out before Susan represented me, Now my life is good! Justice was served! Thanks to Ms. Susan Kowalski........

Susan is totally concerned about what happens to your kids and makes sure they are okay. She ALWAYS called me back and was totally on top of everything. My divorce was over with really fast and everything turned out better than I hoped for. I talked to other lawyers before hiring Susan and she was ...the only one who told me the truth. Ignore that other review anyone who works with 6-10 other lawyers is probably the problem, not the lawyer!!!
