Richard John Hoag

Richard Hoag is the Founder of the HOAG FIRM. Richard’s legal experience covers a broad spectrum of practice areas including complex negotiations in mortgages, consumer lending, commercial real estate, mergers and acquisitions, landlord tenant, entertainment, hospitality, securities, succession planning, family law, oil and gas, corporate formation, and a broad spectrum of other transactional competencies.  

In addition to his legal practice, Richard is a skilled Mediator and has been a successful entrepreneur starting or running companies in six different industries, real estate securities, shopping center development, hospitality/restaurant, residential and commercial construction, IT-professional staffing, entertainment, and organizational development and   training, industries.  In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Hoag is currently CEO of FIRST Professional Resources, Inc., a professional services resource provider, dedicated to connecting the finest available professionals with companies and key individuals to resolve their problems and achieve their business and personal goals.  

Mr. Hoag has authored numerous publications on Negotiation, Communication, Mediation, Change, Accountability, and Leadership. He has developed and conducts a number of workshops and seminars including the highly acclaimed interactive F. I. R. S. T. MethodÒ Workshop, and the ground breaking, peer-driven, CAT Goals and Accountability System™.

Mr. Hoag is a graduate of California State University Northridge, and the University of Southern California (USC) School of Law. A self-described “resolution lawyer” Richard has been an active   member of the California State Bar and Central district of the  Federal District Court for over thirty years. He is Founder of the Business Resource Group, has been a guest lecturer at Pepperdine University, and the University of California Irvine. He serves on the Board of Directors of 3 corporations.
