Now in his fourth decade of legal practice in Orange County, Mr. Robinson has obtained much success both as a prosecutor and civil litigator. As a prosecutor Mr. Robinson tried 35 murder trials to verdict, obtaining convictions in all cases. Likewise, Mr. Robinson has tried well over 150 jury trials. After transitioning to civil litigation in the mid-1990s, Mr. Robinson has concentrated his practice in catastrophic injury, wrongful death, unfair business practices, and has done individual cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, and elder abuse.
Mr. Robinson successfully prosecuted Dr. Thomas Gionis, the ex-husband of Aissa Wayne (the daughter of John Wayne), for conspiracy to attack and assault Ms. Wayne, on nationally broadcast Court Television, and opposed Bruce Cutler, notably John Gotti’s personal defense lawyer, who had obtained acquittals for murder on multiple occasions.
Mr. Robinson was also profiled in the New York Times best seller “If You Really Loved Me,” by Ann Rule, for his prosecution of David Brown, who had allegedly convinced his 15-year-old daughter to kill his then fifth wife, and allowed her to confess to the murder, as if she were acting on her own. After a lengthy investigation over five years, David Brown was convicted of first-degree murder and special circumstances, and for hiring a hitman to kill Mr. Robinson. Mr. Robinson appeared on Oprah Winfrey, Inside Edition, and other national shows in an attempt to have Cinamon Brown paroled.
With regard to Mr. Robinson’s time as Deputy District Attorney‚ James G. Enright‚ former Chief Deputy District Attorney in Orange County‚ wrote the following letter‚ published in the Los Angeles Times:
“This letter is to express our unequivocal support‚ admiration and respect for former Deputy Dist. Atty. Jeoff Robinson. We speak from a vantage point of very personal knowledge. We served as the direct supervisors over Mr. Robinson during his distinguished and illustrious career as an outstanding prosecutor in the homicide division of the office of the district attorney of Orange County. We found Mr. Robinson to be a lawyer of great integrity‚ skill and dedication in every task he performed. He was a vigorous prosecutor without being arrogant‚ and would never compromise the highest ideals of the criminal justice system.”
After transitioning to civil practice in the firm of Robinson, Calcagnie and Robinson, Jeoff likewise had success in both major verdicts and settlements. Of note, Mr. Robinson was one of five lawyers who obtained for their clients, the largest personal injury award in the United States at the time, in Anderson v. General Motors—$4.96 billion. There, six people were badly burned in a fire following a rear end collision. In a suit against the manufacturer of the vehicle‚ a Los Angeles County jury found that the fire was caused by defects in the vehicle’s design. Mr. Robinson and his brother, Mark Robinson, joined Brian Panish and two others in this monumental case. Mr. Robinson represented Jo Tigner in the trial.
In a highly complex Unfair Business Practices case against the Geneva Companies, Jeoff as lead counsel, obtained a $45 million nationwide class action resolution, based on California's Unfair Competition Law. The case was brought on behalf of small business owners for fraud and deceptive advertising.
In the largest verdict at the time in San Bernardino California, Mr. Robinson obtained a $31 million verdict against Snow Valley for their negligence in a ski lift maintenance accident. It was defendants' position that Mr. Anderson was solely at fault for the loss of his two legs as defendants offered zero dollars prior to trial.
Mr. Robinson has obtained several other verdicts and settlements in the seven and eight figure range, that are broken out more specifically in the Case Results page.
More recently, upon the retirement of his nationally recognized brother, Mark Robinson; Kevin Calcagnie; and Allan Davis (three of the co-founders, with Jeoff), Mr. Robinson started his own professional corporation, along with long-time Robinson, Calcagnie and Robinson partner, Patrick Embrey. Most recently, in 2026, Robinson and Embrey obtained an $11.6 million resolution in what was one of the largest medical malpractice single-leg amputation cases since MICRA (medical caps) was enacted. Likewise, this year has also produced a $5.5 million settlement in an auto vs. pedestrian case. Mr. Robinson continues to practice in these areas.
Mr. Robinson has lectured on many topics of litigation, including jury voir dire; opening statement; both direct and cross examination; as well as final argument and rebuttal. Mr. Robinson has also spent nearly a decade coaching youth sports--namely, Pop Warner football, and little league/youth baseball. Mr. Robinson was also active in voluntary roles for almost 10 years at JSerra Catholic High School. Jeoff is also involved in both voluntary and charitable aspects of the law. Mr. Robinson also volunteers with the Diocese of Orange. Lastly, Mr. Robinson prioritizes his spare time with family and friends.
