Yasmine O Abdel-Aal

Yasmine O. Abdel-Aal founded Markah Legal PC in 2011, centering the practice around her own core focus in intellectual property law, entertainment law, and business law. Yasmine received a J.D. from Whittier Law School with a Certificate of Specialization in Intellectual Property Law, and a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Business Management from the University of California, Irvine.  

After law school, Yasmine worked as an Intellectual Property Attorney at the oldest intellectual property boutique firm in Los Angeles.  During her time there, she also served as an Executive Board Member of the Whittier Law School Alumni Association, and a Board member and Reporter of the Los Angeles Intellectual Property Inn of Court. 

Subsequently, Yasmine temporarily relocated to Doha, Qatar. In Doha, Yasmine worked as an Attorney for Qatar Foundation where she served as in-house counsel and an intellectual property specialist for the umbrella organization of over forty centers and divisions.  She subsequently joined the Doha Film Institute, where she served as the General Counsel of Qatar’s first international organization dedicated to building a film hub through film financing, production, and education.  

Her experience has provided for a core of specialties that have been augmented with widely varied experience in the plethora of in-house legal issues ranging from corporate law to entertainment law to international best practices.  When clients come to Yasmine, she can assure them that in addition to serving their legal needs, she also understands and appreciates the ins and outs of what it takes to keep a company moving smoothly from a legal perspective.

Yasmine also currently serves as Of Counsel to the Kaufman Entertainment Law Group, PC, and as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Whittier Law School.
