If you travel out, there is a good chance you may not be readmitted. When your I-751 was denied, your lawful permanent resident status ended.

It's not required, but recommended if available. Other joint documents evidencing a bona fide marriage should also be provided to the officer...

Your change of status will not be granted as your previous status ended in October 2014. However, some schools will still allow you to attend.
