Derek Anthony Herrera

I was born in Los Angeles and raised in California’s High Desert region, where playing organized basketball shaped my understanding of discipline, structure, and perseverance. Those early lessons continue to influence how I approach my work today. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of California, Riverside, and went on to receive my Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. I was drawn to personal injury law because of its power to produce real, life-changing outcomes for clients, and I have built my practice on careful preparation, persistence, and principle.

My philosophy is simple: communicate the truth with clarity, establish leverage from the outset, and preserve trial credibility throughout every phase of a case. I am dedicated to presenting the complete story of each client’s experience, including both the human impact of an injury and the evidence that substantiates it. I hold myself and my team to rigorous standards of honesty and diligence. In 2024 and 2025, I was honored to be recognized as a Southern California Rising Star by Super Lawyers. I have exceeded my own benchmarks in obtaining substantial settlements while ensuring my clients remain informed and actively involved at every step.

Beyond my legal practice, I am committed to helping others reach their goals. I mentor aspiring attorneys, provide career guidance, and assist law students as they prepare for the bar exam. I believe fairness is achieved through preparation and persistence.
