Jared Michael Cohen

Jared Cohen graduated from San Diego State University, with a degree in Political Science. He received his law degree from Golden Gate University School of Law with a Certificate of Specialization in Family Law.

In High School, Jared worked for a Worker’s Compensation and Personal Injury law firm in Southern California, assisting with their cases, and becoming deeply concerned about the well-being of injured clients. This concern and desire to help those in need led Jared to law school, in order to further help injured workers.

While in law school, Jared interned for Gary Dubrovsky of Dubrovsky Law (a boutique Family Law firm) in San Francisco. Through this experience, Jared fully understood that those with physical injuries were not the only ones in need of his legal assistance. As a result of this experience, Jared focused his studies on Family Law. In addition, Jared was an extern at San Francisco Superior Court – Unified Family Court, for the Honorable Ronald Albers and Commissioner Marjorie Slabach. After graduating from law school, Jared worked for San Francisco Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, where he researched and reviewed legislation regarding housing demolition and the construction of new affordable housing.

Jared also provides pro bono services through the San Francisco Bar Association’s Volunteer Legal Services Program.

In addition to practicing law, Jared is an avid cyclist and currently represents District 5 on San Francisco’s Bicycle Advisory Committee. By serving San Francisco in this way, Jared hopes to help the City take the necessary steps to make the streets safer for cyclists, motorists, and pedestrians.
