Mallory Ongkingco Yumol

Mallory Yumol is an associate in the Berger Kahn South Orange County office. Mallory focuses her practice on insurance coverage, examinations under oath, and business litigation.

Mallory earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where she received a B.A. in Sociology and Gender and Women’s Studies with high distinction in general scholarship.

Mallory graduated from University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in May of 2017. While at UCLA Law, Mallory was active in UCLA Law Review, where she served as Managing Editor and Staff Member from 2015-2017.

During law school, Mallory gained trial experience as a certified legal intern for the San Diego County Public Defender’s Office. She successfully argued and conducted examinations at several criminal motions and preliminary hearings — including a winning motion that led to case dismissal and a jury trial that obtained two out of three counts not guilty.

After graduation, Mallory was a recipient of the UC Presidential Service Fellowship, under which she received funding to spend a year at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office’s Writs and Appeals Unit. There, she drafted motions to dismiss, appellate briefs, traverse motions, and petitions for writ of habeas corpus.

Prior to joining Berger Kahn, Mallory was an attorney at the Law Office of Amy Einstein at Los Angeles Dependency Lawyers in Lancaster, California. Mallory gained extensive trial experience as a court-appointed attorney for parents in juvenile dependency proceedings, where she handled a caseload of over 200 cases. In these proceedings, Mallory conducted direct and cross-examinations of witnesses, made oral arguments, and obtained settlements, permanent restraining orders and juvenile custody orders on behalf of parents.
