Board of Nursing
N/AOUTCOME: allegations dismissed and case closed
Represented a registered nurse accused of sexual impropriety with a patient during a physical examination and assessment. The Texas Board of Nursing (BON) proposed to revoke the nurse’s license. An in ... dependent investigation and subsequent presentation at informal settlement conference convinced the Board to drop the allegation. The Board then alleged a recordkeeping error and committed to taking the matter to the State Office of Administrative Hearings (SOAH). Shortly before hearing, the Board dismissed the recordkeeping allegation and closed its case entirely. The Texas Board’s dismissal of the case saved the nurse, who is licensed in three other states, from additional inquiries by other state’s boards.
