Recommendation for Raymond W. Johnson

Raymond W. Johnson is a wonder; a skilled, knowledgeable and experienced attorney who specializes in environmental law, California Environmental Quality Act cases, plus a myriad of local and regional governmental issues. His knowledge of the law, the interworking of the court system and the various ...government agencies was of great assistance in providing us with a positive outcome. As the leader of a group of homeowners looking to protect their property rights and the value of their homes, as well as prevent serious environmental damage to our community; I found Mr. Johnson’s suggestions and directions invaluable in forming our group and protecting the members’ anonymity to shelter them from potential retaliation or ostracism from an often vindictive city council and runaway development supporters. Mr. Johnson was quick to respond to our request for representation, immediately began gathering essential documents and public records in support of our legal action, and met the very specific deadlines for submitting comments on CEQA documents/actions, and preparing and filing all the required court papers. In the face of considerable resistance on the part of the Respondents, he was able to negotiate a settlement to rescind the city council’s resolutions to approval the inappropriate and risky development project and the supporting zone change that supported the project. Mr. Johnson is also that rare attorney who is down-to-earth, approachable and both practical and pragmatic in dealing with clients, the courts and the law. His office is efficiently run, and his staff is professional, personable and reliable. They were readily available and followed through on every detail or telephone call. Mr. Johnson was easy to contact and always willing to explain the law and his handling of our case in a direct and informative manner. When you need an attorney, you need a good one, and Ray Johnson more than fills that need. It was a pleasure to work with him and his staff, and I would heartedly recommend him.
