E. Steve Najera

I normally don’t air dirty laundry but as a small independent Latina business woman, I feel the need to inform the public of this firm and attorney. The unethical and unprofessionalism is on a level I have never seen in all my years in business. I worked for Najera Law Group since the beginning. I... was their first employee. I believed in this firm and the work of the attorney Steve Najera. I was optimistic in what he was doing. Over the years, this firm and the owner has lost their way. Money got to his head. He is no longer that humble attorney I met years ago. Not only did the owner not pay me for my full invoice for work I completed and it was never an issue before. I worked hard for my money and he wants to stiff me because I REFUSED to be involved in his personal legal drama with his long term ex-girlfriend and our second in command. He wanted to find her and for her protection, I wouldn’t tell him where she was. His mask was revealed and the ugly showed quickly. It’s disgusting what he is doing to her to destroy her reputation after she built that firm and then having his staff lie in court to protect his public image. These people have no integrity. He had many affairs (housekeeper) and the truth will always come to light. He sabotaged his life for easy women. I’m so disappointed in him. After 9 months of hell, God sees all and the court agreed with his ex-partner and she won! I am disappointed in his lack of professionalism and integrity and I’ve only been loyal to the firm. The poison starts at the top. Save your money and go to a reputable firm with honest people who take pride in their work. I couldn’t stay quiet any longer. My mother and I have referred dozens of vulnerable Spanish speaking clients trusting Mr. Najera would take care of them. We don’t have a lot of money and we trusted this man. We are heartbroken in who we thought was one of us. Now the feedback is that they are not getting the level of communication or service I promised. Countless people we have referred are disappointed and it’s embarrassing. It’s gone downhill. He passes them off to other attorneys and the firm just keeps charging high fees. It’s a disappointment. I will not be referring any clients to this firm anymore. They are hurting our community. He is not an honest man. He is cruel and lies. I am beyond disappointed in him as a fellow Latino community member. I do not trust him with our Spanish speaking clients. A man that can betray those closest to him is a man that can’t be trusted with any legal matters.

A friend from my church recommended me to this law firm because they cared about and helped the Hispanic community and I needed help with my divorce. I trusted this law firm and there have been no more than delays and lack of communication. My case lasted over 2 years. They are quick to charge my car...d, but slow to help me. Their paralegal Erika did not complete my documentation correctly. I had no idea and she kept asking for the same information over and over again and then they charged me. I was also told that I would recover the attorney’s fees because my ex-husband did not comply with the final judgement. Mr. Nájera assured me that he was going to ask for half of the valué of the properties and one that had been sold, he was confident that it was going to be fulfilled and the judge denied it. They also kept changing lawyers. Then I received a bill for $6,000. They corrected that part, but that shows me how disorganized this law firm is. I will never use them again. They don't care about our Hispanic community. Save your money and find another attorney that will do their job and don't over charge you for their delays, mistakes, and deceptions. Una amiga de mi iglesia me recomendó a este bufete de abogados porque se preocupaban y ayudaban a la comunidad hispano y yo necesitaba ayuda con mi divorcio. Confié en este bufete de abogados y no ha habido más que retrasos y falta de comunicación. Mi caso se prolongó una y otra vez por 2 años. Son rápidos para cobrar mi tarjeta, pero lentos para ayudarme. La asistente legal Erika tampoco completó mi documentación correctamente. No tenía ni idea y seguía pidiendo la misma información y luego me cobraron. También me dijeron que recuperaría los honorarios del abogado porque mi ex-marido no cumplió con el juicio. El Sr. Nájera me aseguró que iba pedir la mitad de las propiedades y una que se había vendido, el estaba seguro que se iba cumplir y el juez lo denegó. También seguían cambiando de abogado. Luego recibí una factura de 6,000 dólares. Corrigieron esa parte, pero eso me demuestra lo desorganizado que es este bufete. Nunca volveré a utilizarlos. No les importa nuestra comunidad hispana. Ahorre su dinero y busque otro bufete o abogado/a que haga su trabajo y no le cobres por sus retrasos, errores, y engaños. No gracias.

I just saw this advertisement come across my feed and I am so disappointed in Najera Law Group. Steve Najera made a lot of promises. This attorney refused to show up personally and only wanted to appear via Zoom. My daughter needed him present in court. I paid for his representation for my daughter a...nd I regret it because his work was sloppy and we were constantly chasing for updates or next steps. His office was always canceling phone updates with us. Once he got the money, we felt like he didn’t care about our case. -Sue Goodwin

I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with the legal services provided by Najera Law Group for my divorce proceedings. My decision to terminate their services stemmed from significant professional failings, including: Unprofessional Conduct: In April, Mr. Najera exhibited highly agg...ressive and unprofessional behavior, including threats of litigation. Negligent Communication: I was not informed of my divorce finalization in May, which resulted in avoidable financial penalties. Repeated attempts for case updates were met with inadequate responses, and my strategic input was consistently disregarded. Disputed & Unauthorized Billing: A post-termination charge of approximately $9,000 is entirely unexplained. Especially when I found out I've been divorce and wasn't properly informed and still charged. My card was charged without authorization after explicit instructions not to, and I was billed for firm-initiated appointment rescheduling. Total payments to the firm exceeded $35,000. These issues represent a profound breach of professional standards. I have terminated my retainer due to these failures and intend to file a formal complaint with the State Bar. I cannot recommend this firm for legal representation.

At first, everything seemed great and very promising. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience to help others avoid what I went through. I paid this attorney thousands of dollars, but in the end, absolutely nothing was accomplished. It felt like they were dragging... their feet the entire time, and at moments, it seemed as if they were representing my ex-husband instead of me. Thankfully, I didn’t have any children with my ex-husband—otherwise, I can’t imagine how much worse things could have been. Please do your research and find an attorney that someone you trust has actually used and recommended. Even then, proceed with caution. In my experience, the Najera Law Group was only in it for the money.
