Albert Johnson Jr

My partner and I work for UCR. We were referred to Mr. Johnson through an Attorney referral program through the University. We wanted to make a Will and Estate Plan for our future. We set up an appointment with Mr. Johnson. On the day we met with him we were treated with no respect. Mr. Johnson would... not shake my hand and did not even greet me. I was told that because we were not a straight married couple we could not have a joint meeting with him together to plan our Estate. Even though we are registered as a Domestic Partnership with the State of California and have a 15 year relationship. My partner went into his office and asked Mr. Johnson why we could not meet together since the Estate Plan involved both of us. Mr. Johnson told my partner that since he made the appointment and we were not a straight couple that he would only meet with him. My partner told him that he did not need his services and he got up and we left the building. I reached over and took a business card from the counter and we left. I later learned that to plan a Will and Estate, it's not require to be related or married. You can simply be friends and you can meet jointly to write your Will and make plans for your Estate.
