Charrisse N. Smith

For over a decade, Charrisse N. Smith has guided countless individuals through the complexities of the legal system. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her professionalism, unwavering dedication to advocacy, and exceptional negotiation and mediation skills. Committed to reshaping the perception of lawyers, Charrisse upholds the highest standards of integrity both in and out of the courtroom. She approaches every case with the same level of care and diligence she would for her own legal matters.
Charrisse finds deep fulfillment in practicing family law, knowing that she plays a crucial role in helping individuals navigate some of life’s most challenging moments. She exclusively practices Family Law, serving clients in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in Southern California. Her experience spans both complex and uncontested cases involving divorce, spousal support, child custody, child support, property division, and domestic violence.

A Southern California native, Charrisse earned her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Black Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Following her studies, she dedicated a year to public service through the AmeriCorps VISTA program, working at an inner-city high school. There, she found joy in mentoring students, helping them grow academically and socially as they prepared for college and life beyond.

Charrisse went on to earn her law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan, where she consistently made the Dean’s List. She also held leadership roles in the Student Bar Association and the Black Law Students Association, both locally and nationally. Notably, she was the first student from her law school to serve on the Executive Board for the Midwestern Region of the Black Law Students Association.

Passionate about mentorship, Charrisse enjoys advising young attorneys and aspiring legal professionals. When she’s not practicing law, she loves spending time at the beach, shopping, or traveling the world with her beloved husband, Mark.
