OUTCOME: No Bill By Grand Jury
Client was charged with three counts of child endangerment and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly attempting to strike another vehicle which had her own three children in the back se ... at. We requested a polygraph and she was taken into custody by the Dallas SWAT Team by kicking in her doors and arresting her when she was 7 months pregnant. Held on 4 $100,000 bonds. Could not get an examining trial before the grand jury date but did get a bond reduction in which several of her family members testified that she was somewhere else at the time of the alleged incident. The transcript from the bond hearing (which was denied) along with pictures of her and her children and the request for polygraph examination were submitted along with my written position to the grand jury in which we received no bill indictments at first on the three counts of child endangerment. We were able to get her out on bond for the no bill indictment from the grand jury on the aggravated assault the next week. If she would have remained in jail another month she would have given birth to the baby and CPS would have taken it.
