Ray Rodger Coulter

Mr. Coulter was recommended to me by a real estate agent for the very simple task of handling a title transfer after my mom died. In evaluating lawyers, I called him and said I was exploring the issue. He talked with me for about 10 minutes. He said he was going to pull the title and write up an e...mail. To my surprise, in about 20 days, I recevied an invoice from his firm. I neither asked him to pull the title and write up an email, nor did I hear him say that his time was already on the billing clock. I don't mind paying for services offered (and will pay him as a matter of good faith), but he should have mentioned that his time invested to date was billable and that I was going to get a bill. I would have insisted that he NOT pull the title and write a $40 email to me.
