Lazzari obtained a judgment from the Italian Bankruptcy Court. We "domesticated" the judgment under Chapter 15 of the United States Code, thereby entitling Lazzari to participate in the distribution of monies that come out of the bankrupt estate.
St. Paul Fire & Marine v. Mobile Mini
Commercial real estate
Jan 01, 2004
Settled for substantially less than requested.
USC was remodeling its facilities and placed slabs of marble into Mobile Mini's movable bins. When the bins were not paid for by a General Contractor Mobile Mini took possession of the bins. USC and St. Paul claimed that in moving the bins Mobile Mini damaged "historic marble" and sought hundreds of thousands of dollars. Through the use of an expert, we demonstrated that all marble is "historic," e.g., thousands of years old. For this reason, we settled for a nuisance amount.
