Richard A Umbenhauer

Richard Umbenhauer has extensive experience in general business law and legal transactions.  He has been practicing law for more than 30 years  and is admitted to practice in California and Pennsylvania as well as the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals. 

Prior to joining Roemer & Harnik LLP, Mr. Umbenhauer was general counsel and chief operating officer for a national franchise company, was an attorney with Slovak Baron & Empey LLP and also served as in-house counsel for a real estate development company.  His practice concentrates in transactional, real estate, business, franchise and real estate law.  He handles matters before the California Department of Real Estate and the California Department of Corporations.  Prior to moving to California, Mr. Umbenhauer was a senior partner at Nikolaus, Hohenadel and Umbenhauer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and managed that firm’s title insurance agency.

Mr. Umbenhauer has served on the Board of Directors for the Lancaster Bar Association and was the Chairman of the Lancaster Law Review.  Mr. Umbenhauer is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker.

For more than 13 years, Mr. Umbenhauer was a Trustee in Bankruptcy and has also served as a court-appointed receiver for the purpose of liquidating failing businesses.
