When clients are planning for their future, creating a trust to protect that future is a necessity. A trust allows for the settlor, the perosn creating the trust, to ensure that assets owned by the Settlor are passed on as the Settlor wishes. A trust does not go through the probate process of a will. When the Settlor passes away having placed the estate assets in the trust, the trustee of the trust must abide by the wishes of the now deceased Settlor.
