Biography
Robert (Rob) K. Butterfield was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1951. He received his undergraduate degree from Boston University in 1974 and his law degree from the University of San Diego in 1977. He was admitted to practice in California in 1977 and in Connecticut in 1979.
Mr. Butterfield has practiced employee benefit, tax and corporate law since 1977. He is a former president of the Western Pension and Employee Benefits Conference – San Diego Chapter, former member of the Administrative Board of the San Diego City Retirement System (and member of the City’s 2004 Pension Reform Committee 2004) and former member of the San Diego County and California Taxation Sections Governing Bodies.
Mr. Butterfield has been included in “The Best Lawyers in America” (1991-2000, 2005-2011, 2013-2016).
