Charles Edward Moore

Mr. Moore has been a California trial lawyer since 1995 and is known for taking on cases that demand deep preparation and a willingness to go the distance. His work includes headline-making employment litigation, such as Robles v. AutoZone, where a jury awarded $7.5 million in punitive damages after evidence showed coercive interrogation tactics were used to force false confessions. The case was widely discussed in national media, and Mr. Moore’s role was highlighted in coverage including The New York Times. He later assisted on related cases—Kell and Cosby—that each ended in $1.5 million verdicts, and he worked from the start on Juarez v. AutoZone, joining a trial team that secured a record $185,872,000 verdict in 2014. Mr. Moore has also led successful trials in personal injury, elder abuse, wrongful death, insurance bad faith, defamation, and whistleblower matters, including a $16 million verdict against an insurer for wrongfully terminating disability benefits. Before law school, he worked in the bicycle industry and raced competitively, experience that makes him especially skilled in bicycle injury cases. When he’s not practicing law, he’s usually riding—or winning foosball tournaments.
