If you filed a default judgment or default then you cannot dismiss until you have those vacated.

No. A demurrer is an appearance and have submitted to jurisdiction. You can move for a transfer for improper venue.

Not required but the other party can seek to have custody and visitation revisited if the conviction creates an issue that should be addressed....

The child support is for the child not you so that will not be garnished. Any income (that isn't exempt )can be taken which includes settlements...
