James Paul de Haan

James de Haan is an associate in the Employment Law Department of Paul Hastings, LLP, and is based in the firm's San Diego Office. His practice focuses on all aspects of employment and labor law.

Mr. de Haan has represented individuals and companies in state and federal proceedings involving wage order violations, collective bargaining, employee misclassification, discrimination, harassment, and trade secret theft. He has also counseled clients on legal compliance and drafted public comments on proposed rules promulgated by federal agencies.

Mr. de Haan graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2018, with a concentration in Employment and Labor Law, and was subsequently inducted into the Order of the Coif. While attending law school, he served as Lead Articles Editor for the San Diego Law Review and President of the Employment and Labor Law Society. Mr. de Haan earned his Master of Philosophy in Modern Irish History from University of Dublin, Trinity College, graduating with First Class Honours in 2012; and a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in History from California Lutheran University in 2011. He is admitted to practice law in California.
