In response to Mr. Abraham's post, George is a colleague of mine. I know for a fact that his son does not work and has never worked for the San Diego Attorney General’s office. He is currently a research attorney for a justice on the 2nd Distict California Court of Appeal in Los Angeles. This is e...asily verifiable through the State Bar which shows his work address on the court of appeal. Prior to that, he did court-appointed appellate defense, also in Los Angeles. This inaccuracy makes me skeptical of the remaining claims in Mr. Abraham's post. However, in fairness to Mr. Abraham, quite often clients and their family members do not have a full understanding of the law and the restraints that appellate attorneys must operate under nor a full appreciation of how difficult it is to obtain relief on appeal once a jury has found the accused guilty or the accused has entered a plea. I have no specific knowledge of Mr. Abraham's son's case, but I have no doubt that George Schraer did everything possible within the limits of the law to obtain a favorable result for his client. George Schraer is on the short list of appellate attorneys whom I would recommend to someone seeking to retain counsel in a criminal appeal.
