This lawyer fails to communicate, follow up, or support clients in asylum cases. Highly unreliable and risky.

I absolutely do not recommend this lawyer. He did not deliver the performance I expected in my asylum case and was extremely inadequate throughout the process. When I was detained by ICE, he showed no concern. While I was in jail, I asked him to deposit money into my account for phone and commissary ...expenses, and he said, “I do not provide that kind of service.” His complete lack of support in such a basic matter was incredibly frustrating. I only expected him to handle my defense, demonstrate that I was right, and help with urgent needs—but he did absolutely nothing. He only called me three days before my court date and asked, “Why haven’t you submitted your defense?” I explained that I could not call because there was no money in my account. Then he replied as if I were living outside, saying, “You couldn’t handle the money in 15 days?” He knew very well that I had no other way to reach anyone, yet he spoke irresponsibly. I am at risk of losing my case, and this has caused conflicts among my friend, my spouse, and my mother, who keep asking, “When will they deport you to Turkey?” Throughout this process, my lawyer did not answer my calls, failed to provide necessary support, and did not follow up on my case. As a result, I spent two extra months in jail. Because there was no one to handle or follow up my affairs, I experienced additional suffering. In the end, through another lawyer whom I did not know, my friend was able to deposit money into my account. My own lawyer did nothing, refused to communicate, and abandoned his responsibilities. This experience shows that even the most basic duties expected from a lawyer were not fulfilled. If you are seeking help with an asylum case or support in jail, this lawyer’s sense of responsibility and professionalism is seriously lacking. He did not prioritize my rights, my defense, or my basic needs. Therefore, I strongly warn others to avoid hiring this lawyer to prevent similar disappointment. In an asylum case, it is crucial to have a lawyer who defends your rights, acts reliably, and responds quickly—my experience clearly shows that this lawyer lacks those qualities.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
