When I first retained Men’s Legal, I was told the case would not cost more than $4,000, even on the high end. That turned out to be false. I have already paid $4,824.95 and was just billed another $1,575. To make matters worse, my attorney, Francisco Batara, attended a critical video hearing from ...the DMV while handling personal business, not even in a private or professional setting. He later claimed the Judge never read the X factors, but if he had been competent and focused, he would have realized that $500 a month in support for four children—with me having physical custody and the respondent at 40% timeshare—made no sense. His lack of attention cost me significantly and dragged this case out much longer than necessary. Because he missed the Judge’s reasoning during that hearing, he later told me he had already drafted a Request for Order to correct the issue—but said he couldn’t file it until I paid the remainder of my bill, which was $825. After I paid that, I was then hit with yet another $1,575 charge once he filed. This firm is not worth it. Between the misleading estimates, excessive billing, and lack of professionalism, I would not recommend Men’s Legal.
