Mr. Greenberg provided relief to my life situation that I never thought I could achieve. My name is Marlene and I have had financial hardships in the past 8 years. It began with divorce and followed by losing my job which supported me and my daughter. As a single mom I was already in some heavy de...bt, so losing my job was simply devastating. For 4 years I struggled. It was difficult to find a comparable management position and so I had to take odds jobs doing everything from babysitting to cleaning homes. I could barely put food on the table. The mounting debt weighted so heavy on me and the phone calls from debtors with treats was overwhelming. It became so bad I changed my phone number. First of all, I am a praying woman and I never stopped praying and believing that things would turn around. I asked God to send me the resources, the knowledge, and the tools to handle my life, my debt and my responsibilities. 6 years later I got a decent job and decided to contact my debtors to make payment arrangements. What I found out was that the interest, sur charges and fees had made most of my debt double and in some cases triple. Although I did my best to make small payments there was clearly no way I was ever going to get on top of it all. I continued paying minimum payments and the interests continued to compound. But I also continued praying. Well I decided to find a way to consolidate things and began to research and seek out assistance. I did not consider bankruptcy as for some reason I did not think I would qualify. I had also heard of many scams where people charged large fees and disappeared. I met such a person who was very interested in helping at a very large fee but also made it clear that I would have to do a lot of work with absolutely no guarantees I would be able to reach agreements with my debtors. I could barely make my monthly payments plus live so how was I going to pay $3000 and then end up in more debt. I became disheartened again. I then decided to use my work referral program. The first 3 attorney's I spoke with over the phone all gave me the same spiel. Large fees with no guarantees. Mr. Greenberg was the last referral I was going to try. To my amazement he was refreshingly kind, understanding and spoke in a way I could understand. He told me to come and see him so we can go over all my debt in detail and then see what options I had. I felt a feeling of peace after this phone call. When we met Mr. Greenberg did exactly what he said he would do. He reviewed my situation, he did not do the fast talk with legal ease that I could not understand. He reviewed my debt and then he spoke words that I had not heard or imagine I would hear. He said I had a clear-cut case for bankruptcy and that my debt was eligible for discharge. I told him I did not believe it but would listen to what he had to say. He then proceeded to carefully and slowly explain why I was eligible and how the process would work. He explained step by step what I should expect and what paperwork I would have to provide. He answered my every question and at the end he guaranteed me that my case would be discharged. I walked away in disbelieve and that night I cried with relief. This was the first moment in 8 years i felt a peaceful feeling come over me. I knew God had answered my prayers. Mr. Greenberg said how awful it must be to be in my situation and said I deserved to a fresh start at a normal life. He said my daughter deserved this as well. He really cared. We filed in June and every single process and procedure he said would happen, HAPPENED. He prepared me with knowledge, paperwork, guidance and he told me what questions I would be asked and how to answer them. Today, October 4th, I received my discharge paperwork. I have a fresh start and a new life ahead me thanks to Mr. David Greenberg. He is absolutely wonderful and trustworthy and he cares. I have hope again and I plan to make better choices.
