I began my career as the youngest Assistant County Attorney at the Harris County Attorney's Office in Houston, Texas. I was mentored by Hon. Theresa Chang, who is currently the presiding judge for Harris County Civil Court No. 2. As an Assistant County Attorney, I represented Harris County as the plaintiff in motor vehicle collision subrogation, slip and fall subrogation, property damage, restitution, breach of contract, housing loan, eminent domain and sworn account cases.
As lead counsel, I litigated and won three motor vehicle collision jury trials. I also represented the Houston SPCA and litigated approximately three to four animal cruelty cases per week. Many of these cases were filmed for the TV show Animal Cops Houston and aired on Animal Planet.
Thereafter, I obtained a Master of Laws, LL.M., at USD School of Law and joined the Law Office of J. Michael Traher in Arizona, where I assisted with a variety of complex civil cases involving probate, personal injury, tax, real estate, landlord/tenant, evictions, discrimination and intellectual property issues. During my tenure with the family firm I negotiated an exceptional settlement for the plaintiff in a securities fraud case and after the attorney's fees were paid, our client was awarded $599,.
I then accepted a position in San Diego as a civil litigation attorney for Farmers Insurance Exchange. In this position, I handled personal injury, tractor-trailer, car, motorcycle, cycling and pedestrian accidents, falls, fire, products liability, mishandling of remains, assault and battery, wrongful death, Unruh and ADA violations, mold, water leaks, water diversion, landslide, and HOA/COA disputes. I filed several prevailing Motions for Summary Judgment, obtained several dismissals, and exceeded my clients' expectations in all of the cases I took to trial or arbitration.
I now have 13 years of civil trial and arbitration experience to help injured plaintiffs and their families seek justice and compensation. I recently obtained a $250, settlement for a client who seriously injured her neck in a car accident and I have demanded $2,000, in a C.C.P. § 998 for a client who suffered severe fractures in her feet from failing while carefully descending defective stairs.
If I am unable to obtain a fair settlement for my clients, I will continue to fight for them and take the defense to trial with my winning track record. I have a valuable trial strategy that is customized for each trial or arbitration. I develop a clear theme, focus on impeachment, and control the courtroom with evidentiary objections. I also compose short and pointed cross-examinations of opposing experts and reinforce my theme through testimony, objections and argument. If you are injured through no fault of your own, feel free to call me at for a free consultation.
