I was being put through the ringer by my ex husband who quit his job to claim covid EDD. I couldn’t afford that luxury, I was working 60 hours a week to provide for my children while he filed paper after paper while paying no child support and holding no job. He was staking me, disabling my vehicles,... and playing games that risked my job and family. As soon as I got Lisa all games came to a screeching hault and he was put in check very fast. My life was instantly better. She’s amazing. I think at one point my ex, before he was put in prison, even tried to retain her. LOL. He’s not very smart.

When I finally came to Lisa Schwarte's office, I had been trying to represent myself through the courts with an abusive, manipulative, very smart husband that I was leaving for the third time. After 23 years of being a stay at home mom and involved in all my girl's school activities, PTO board, cros...sing guard for 3 years, etc. my husband decided he wanted to be single again after the girls and I had forgiven him twice before for his multiple infidelity, gambling, lying these last 10 years! Because of my husband's gambling in 2011, we ended filing Chapter 11 in 2012, so this time around, I had no credit at all and was barely getting any money from my husband so I was forced to represent myself. I went online and read and tried to follow the steps.but while I filed the right forms and had all my evidence, each time I went to court, once I saw my husband and he spoke in court, I would have a total Physical panic attack, sweats and could hardly speak. Because of that, the Commissioner would just go along with what my husband laid out because I just could not stand up against him mentally. After having to be so consumed in all the mountains of evidence I had been collecting for the last ten years it began physically killing me. I lost 45 lbs, and the stress is effecting every system of my body, as well as my 16 yer old daughter's health . Being able to hand over all that burden, has allowed the healing to finally begin. The day I handed over ALL the evidence, categorized, financials, spent too many sleepless nights stressing over all this, was the first time I could take my first deep breathe in what feels like decades! This is a very complicated divorce and now having her on my side, and let her worry about subpoenas, putting together all the pieces and will be able to articulate to the Judge (She had us upgraded to a Judge, instead of a Commissioner) in the language he speaks, at our next court date, I am actually looking forward to it now! Thank you Lisa and Claudia, I can now sleep restfully at night!
