Joy Lynn Homze

Joy L. Homze is Counsel in the San Diego office where she defends clients in business litigation and professional liability matters, with a specific emphasis on the counseling and representation of attorneys and law firms. Much of her career has been focused on helping clients navigate their way through the most complex of litigation, while also providing guidance on cost-effective alternatives to litigation and risk management strategies.

While her practice is dedicated to defending professionals and businesses, Ms. Homze has worked for a diverse range of clients. She has represented public entities, companies, partnerships and sole practitioners in a variety of practice areas, including business disputes, malpractice claims, catastrophic injury, and class action litigation. She has extensive experience guiding clients through all stages of litigation, continuously advocating on their behalf before judges, juries, arbitrators, mediators, and opposing counsel.

Outside the litigation sphere, Ms. Homze crafts strategies for clients to reduce or eliminate the risk of litigation through creative and proactive solutions, even in highly-contentious situations. Through careful attention to her clients’ needs and a passion for the practice of law, Ms. Homze consistently achieves results for her clients in complex litigated and non-litigated matters.

Ms. Homze is active in the community as a member of San Diego Defense Lawyers and ABTL, the Association for Business Trial Lawyers. She previously served on the Board of the Korean American Bar Association, and actively supports Promises 2 Kids, an organization dedicated to supporting San Diego-area foster children. In 2018, she was selected as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star, and earned that honor again in 2019.
