Jacob Timothy Spaid

Mr. Spaid’s practice focuses primarily on civil litigation in state and federal courts, and he has significant class action experience. He has successfully represented clients at all stages of litigation, including the California Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeals for the 9th, 2nd, and 5th Circuits.

Mr. Spaid is active in the San Diego legal community. He is a former member of the Leadership Development Committee for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and a member of the Louis M. Welsh American Inn of Court. He is also a published author, with articles published in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation and in San Diego Lawyer Magazine.

He earned his Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where he graduated third in his class. While in law school, Mr. Spaid was a Senior Editor of the California Western Law Review, and Editor of California Western International Law Review. He received various awards and accolades while in law school, including Dean’s List, the Diane Ethics Award, the Law Review Outstanding Editor Award, and Academic Achievement Awards in nine of his classes.

Mr. Spaid has been selected to the Best Lawyers in America© “Ones to Watch” list each year since 2021. This award recognizes lawyers who have been in private practice between five and ten years and highlights the most promising younger lawyers in the country. He has also been selected as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star each year since 2017.

Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Spaid earned a Master of Business Administration from San Diego State University. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University, magna cum laude, and was elected by the faculty as the university’s top graduating Business Management student.
