You simply cannot "send" him back. He can hire a sharp immigration lawyer and find ways to remain in this country. He doesn't need you anymore. ...

Forget about this story. Without a valid US visa on your passport the airline security personnel will not allow you to even board the plane.

If your NIW (filed on Form I-140), then all your worries are over & you can proceed with filing the AOS (I-485), if you haven't done so already.
