In 2022, he requested the court to modify child support payments by refusing to pay by claiming disability on why he cannot pay while owning assets in the millions. AGAIN, I knew I have to stand up and be the voice for my daughter until she is 18 years old. I was devastated not knowing where I can find the fund to hire a new and very experienced law firm to represent me when the father had hired a lawyer not to pay child support. I did a lot of research on law firms and called at least 10 law firms. They all advertised the same and they are willing to help someone like me. Which inspired me to be focused and find creative ways to pay for legal fees within a reasonable time. I was able to access the lawyer that I work with anytime by texting through their company text message. The service I received is outstanding and transparent. During this time, Butler Law, PC provides the best law guidance and represents me in court. The firm recommends Code of Civil Procedure Section 1987(b), which provides that "[t]he giving of the notice shall have the same effect as service of a subpoena on the witness, and the parties shall have those rights and the court may make those orders”. This process helps us to find out the father did not have any documentation that prove his claim of disability. I think all divorces are a nightmare. I was absolutely exhausted after meeting several attorney's that various co-workers and friends had recommended. I am sure they were great lawyers but I did not feel a sense of understanding throughout the consultations. I met with Ms. Bernstein on a whim after s...eeing her law firm while searching google. She spent time listening to my concerns instead of making promises about how she would destroy my ex (a nice change of pace). I felt that I was in good hands and had no issue writing a check to retain her. As my case progressed I was impressed with the overall knowledge of case law and general divorce procedures that Ms Bernstein and her peers had. Everyone I interacted with was professional and seemed to know their jobs well. (The fact that they are all cute was a perk too, it was great to see my ex's expressions in court). I had a few times when I was a little curious what was happening but never felt like I was not being kept informed, I was actually happy that I was not being phoned constantly because I am sure lawyers bill for that time. This attorney and her office did the worst job and was detrimental in my case. I had to get advice from several accountants, business and tax attorneys while she was still retained and when I mentioned to them what was going on, several asked "Are you sure this person has a law degree? What she i...s doing doesn't make sense." She is very unprofessional. She over promises, under delivers and blames the client when she does not work for them. It cost me two years and over a hundred thousand dollars to get... nothing. When I hired a new attorney, my files from her office were missing and tampered with. I have dozens of nasty and disrespectful emails from her I would be happy to share with anyone interested. Don't walk--RUN>
