Derek William Paradis

Derek Paradis is an associate attorney and a member of the Hotels, Restaurants & Tourism, Business Litigation, and Employment Law practice groups.  His practice focuses on defending businesses and employers of all sizes in business, employment, contract, and real property litigation.  Before he joined Higgs Fletcher & Mack, Mr. Paradis practiced law for three years at another well-respected law firm in San Diego. Mr. Paradis is an experienced litigator who can manage all aspects of a case file through trial.

Mr. Paradis has extensive experience in employment litigation matters and has represented employers in claims involving wrongful termination, wage and hour class actions, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.

Mr. Paradis also has a wide-array of litigation experience in complex business disputes involving, among other things, breach of contract, intentional business torts, fraudulent transfers, and unfair competition.

Mr. Paradis was nominated for the San Diego Daily Transcript's "Young Attorneys" award in 2011, which recognizes the area's most promising associates.  Mr. Paradis is currently a member of the San Diego Hotel Motel Association.

Mr. Paradis graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned Dean's List honors.  While attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Mr. Paradis was the Assistant Hotel Manager of the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino.

Mr. Paradis received his J.D. from Thomas Jefferson School of Law.  Mr. Paradis was the valedictorian of his graduating class and served as a Notes Editor for the Law Review.

In his spare time, Mr. Paradis enjoys going to the beach, golfing, football, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
