Catherine A. Richardson serves as a Deputy City Attorney with the San Diego City Attorney's Ofice. Ms. Richardson has over twenty five years of litigation experience in a broad range of practice areas, including wrongful death, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, construction defects, eminent domain, inverse condemnation, insurance bad faith, and business cases.
Not long after graduating from law school, she gained valuable trial experience prosecuting criminal cases, including domestic violence cases while in the nationally-recognized Domestic Violence Unit of the City Attorney's Office.
Ms. Richardson has volunteered her time as a Pro Tem Administrative Law Judge for the State of California, as a Judge Pro Tem for the San Diego Small Claims Court, as an Arbitrator for the San Diego County Bar Association Fee Arbitration Committee, and on the Two-Attorney Settlement Conference Panel for the San Diego Superior Court, North County Division. She also serves on the Board of Directors of teh San Diego Inn of Court and has been a Workshop leader for the Inn's Evidence and Trial Practice programs for many years.
Ms. Richardson was born in New York, and relocated to San Diego in 1979. She received her BA from UCSD, and her law degree from the University of San Diego. She has been licensed to practice law in California since 1988.
