This guy over the phone makes it seem like he cares, but he's only after your cash, he actually thought he could get me to pay him $5,000 without a retainer, so that he could hire someone else for $100 dollars just to prepare an amended complaint. After I told him to send a retainer agreement he pro...ved to be just a scam artist.

Hired Jaques with a settlement already in hand he told me he could get me 45000 even with my criminal record which had nothing to do with what I was being accused. O told him I was facing 3 strikes and life in prison for other offenses. He told me it didn't matter because what was said is completely... different than the false light and slander that was spread about me. After about 15000 in his fees he tells me that my criminal record can come into play and it's better to settle. I settled on his recommendation for the same exact settlement I got on my own plus four thousand dollars. Which when I count his fees I lost a lot more hiring him. He was late to depositions, I had to tell him he missed court dates, he said money would be returned from his office to me from the last 6k plus I sent him for trial readiness which we didn't even go to. How assistant/ office manager Elizabeth uguarte told me I had a great chance of winning and that I should continue to send more money. Two weeks ago Jaques tells me he fired her for stealing moneyrrible from clients. I signed the settlement 11 months ago and I have not received any money from the company I was suing or have I received a refund from jaques law office. It's been almost a year!! Horrible attorney poor ethics and I don't recommend.

Bruce Jaques took a case for me and rarely kept in contact. I called at least once a week to check on the status of my case and not only would his staff say each time I called that he was never available but he would never even bother to call me back. His website claims he specializes in anti-SLAPP l...aw however he filed a lawsuit on my behalf and it was the very anti-SLAPP motion from the opposing attorney that got my case dismissed.

I hired Mr. Jaques to write a Cease and Desist letter to someone. Before he sent the letter I noticed that there were grammar errors namely the word "dafamation" was spelled as such in the heading. I pointed this out but the grammar errors were not fixed before it was sent out. In addition to that, I... provided both the work address and email to the intended person. The letter was sent without the building and suite number that I provided him so the hard copy never reached the person. After this Mr. Jaques went out of the country for a case and was incredibly difficult to reach. While he was away, the person rebutted with an aggressive C&D letter in return to Mr. Jaques. For almost a month he claimed he was not able to attend to the matter and submit my rebuttal until he returned to the U.S. I waited patiently for his return and once he did return I began to realize that Mr. Jaques and I were not a compatible match so I started looking for an attorney who can better represent me. Until that happened I submitted all my rebuttal materials to Mr. Jaques agreed to send one last reply before potential ligation. I paid his fees and the next day Mr. Jaques decided he didn't want to continue representing me. I felt this was understandable because it was mutual and he did refund my money but it was very unfortunate that it took so long to reach this conclusion. As most people know when you're in a dispute with someone where you feel you need legal representation, it is a time-sensitive matter. So, I am giving him a low score due to the errors he made in our initial contact and for being difficult to get ahold of. My score does not reflect the fact that he discontinued me as his client. I ended up finding an attorney that was a better fit so it worked out in the long run.
