I was falsely accused of a violent crime (the felony sentence carried up to 14.5 years in potential prison time). I took the case to jury verdict and was convicted of a lesser included offense (a misdemeanor brandishing charge). As a licensed professional, I cannot have ANYTHING on my record, cer...tainly NOT a misdemeanor. I appealed my conviction and it was ultimately REVERSED AND REMANDED to the trial court. By this time, FIVE YEARS HAD PASSED since the date of the original offense. Incredibly, the San Diego District Attorney’s Office decided to try me a SECOND TIME. Elysia worked doggedly doing research on the issues of self-defense with a firearm and a defendant’s right to give a jury instructions on the affirmative right to defense of self AND OTHERS. Thanks in no small part to Elysia’s OUTSTANDING WRITTEN SCHOLARSHIP AND PREPARATION FOR TRIAL, THE DA DROPPED THE CASE JUST DAYS BEFORE TRIAL BEGAN! Quite bluntly, were it not for Elysia’s dogged determination and preparation, I may have had to go through the NIGHTMARE of a criminal trial A SECOND TIME. If you have the opportunity to retain Ms. Wilschke, count yourself very fortunate. I recommend her very highly.
