Stuart E. Rickerson

In addition to his three decades of corporate legal management, he consultied with law departments of Fortune 500 companies on legal productivity and effective management. He co-invented and Golden Triangle owns DefenseNet ® strategic legal management software (Patent No. 5,875,431).

One of the 3 cases he took to the U.S. Supreme Court was as general counsel for Cardiac Pacemakers Inc. where he helped craft a plan for this $48 million/year revenue, aggressively asserting patents against industry leaders, including a “intentional infringement” jury verdict resulting in injunctions, a US Supreme Court opinion, and more than $3 Billion in incremental sales. The device now saves several hundred thousand lives a year. During his tenure, the sales grew 10--fold.

Recognized while general counsel at ALARIS Medical, the global market leader in medication infusion devices, Rickerson instituted various “best in class” corporate governance and executive compensation activities, earning ALARIS ratings by independent agencies in the top 3% of all public corporations in corporate governance. This was reflected in a dramatic stock appreciation, and ultimately its sale for a 16-fold increase in value in 3 years.

As general counsel and member of the board of directors of Keene Corporation, he guided the company through overwhelming product liabilities resulting from a four-year stock acquisition of a building products company for $12M in 1968.
