David A. Kaufman

A lifelong San Diegan, David A. Kaufman grew up in Point Loma, graduated from The Bishop’s School, and earned his undergraduate degree in history from Claremont McKenna College after a brief stint at Williams College. He originally considered a career in writing, but his path eventually led to law. David graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Law in 2009 and was admitted to practice in California in 2012. Before opening his firm, he built a wide-ranging background—working in real estate, construction, and later inside major health care organizations, including UCSD and Rady Children’s Hospital, where he handled contracting and payment-dispute issues. That experience shaped his practical, detail-driven approach to litigation. Today, he leads the Law Offices of David A. Kaufman, APC, representing plaintiffs in personal injury and employment matters, along with insurance and other civil disputes. Many cases are handled on contingency, so clients can pursue justice without paying hourly fees. When he’s off the clock, David can often be found bodysurfing in La Jolla or outdoors hiking and gardening.
