Smaller companies do not typically have the opportunity to hire a full time General Counsel.  Law firms generally command higher fees and don’t have the bandwidth, even if they have the expertise, to be standing watch for their business client.  That’s why my firm offers a niche professional service for smaller or start-up companies that are looking to add talent to their executive team without unnecessary overhead by utilizing an experienced, outside General Counsel, as needed.  Our clients don’t take on the salary and overhead that companies with in house counsel must incur to stay competitive.
