Jenn French

I am an attorney, singer, and volunteer.

I am a partner at Lynch Carpenter, where I represent plaintiffs in complex class action litigation involving privacy and data breach, employee wage and hour, and consumer protection, and a panel attorney with Appellate Defenders, Inc., where I serve as court-appointed counsel in criminal appellate cases. It is also my privilege to volunteer as pro bono counsel for victims of human and civil rights violations through Casa Cornelia Law Center, survivors of domestic violence through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, and indigent civil plaintiffs as a member of the Southern District of California's Pro Bono Panel.

I am passionate about increasing access to justice and advancing the status of women in law and society. I serve on the Federal Bar Association's Civics, Service, and Outreach Committee and on the San Diego FBA Chapter's Board of Directors, where I am the Vice President of Court Engagement. I am the chair of the California Lawyers Association's Federal Courts Committee, and I serve on CLA's Litigation Section Executive Committee and Racial Justice Committee. I am also an editor of CLA's monthly Litigation Update and Co-Executive Editor of the National Organization of Women Lawyer's Women Lawyers Journal. I am a Master in the Louis M. Welsh Chapter of the American Inn of Court and an active member of Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Consumer Attorneys of California, and California Appellate Defense Counsel. I also volunteer in the San Diego County Bar Association as the Vice-Chair of the Leadership Speaker Series, the Programming Chair of the Appellate Practice Section, a member of the DEI Division, and a member of the 2024 San Diego Lawyer Editorial Committee.

Last but not least, I am a classically trained singer, and I perform with Musica Vitale, a professional choir based in Coronado, and as a staff singer with St. Paul's Cathedral in Banker's Hill.
