Carl Jacob Hoppes

Save your money do not hire Carl Hoppes. If you hear these phrases from him your going to regret his actions," Its your day I need to get this filed now. ","don't worry we will just file it late".I was going to call you,but I didnt want to ruin your weekend " with that phrase he made outside conver...sation with the opposing attorney then threw me under the bus in court. If you hear this phrase from him in court "your honor we have a strange request " this phrase cost me $3000. in pro-visitation monitor,made me look worse to the court, and left me with 12 hrs a week for 6 months visits with my kids, over lies from ex-wife. As soon as we walked out of court session when he claimed he was late and took off as fast as he could, when I question him about his actions in court, he went right to " If you don't have confidence in me find a different attorney " I did hire new attorney immediately and when asked for refund of partial pay because he did not do what he was paid for he waited ten days then produced some outrageous amount that he just made up.. When I first interviewed with Carl , he demeaned the opposing Lawyer calling him a " FLAMING HOMOSEXUAL " and went on a self promoting,lengthy, bragging rant, about how great he is,as it turned out that Flaming homosexual made Carl look like a fool in court. I can not stress the fact enough that Carl Hoppes is self serving, and the time he spends bragging you pay for. Also he was very technically challenged when he was emailing statements and cover letters , I would on receive the cover letters and not the statements,this probably has something to do with how dis-organized his La Mesa office appears. My goal with this review is to save prospective clients their money and heartache do not hire Carl Hoppes or you will learn to regret it as I did

I am glad to say Carl Hoppes (lawyer) and Kelly Molina (paralegal) are the best team I ever had that nervous day in court. Not only was all the paper work on time and ready, but when court time played out in Ms.Katherine Bacal's court room, Carl Hoppes was flawless. He was stern, direct, and showed n...o mercy . To say the least I was awarded joint legal and joint physical custody of my 11 year old daughter. I would strongly recommend Carl Hoppes & Associates to anyone who thinks a lawyer doesnt make a diffrence ...or who is tired of not being able to say what you really want to say... if you've gone this far one more step couldn't hurt.... Just sit back and watch the fireworks unfold.. thank you C. Hoppes & Associates you do make a diffrence...

Carl is an attorney I highey would recommend...he's is straight to the point and studys your case with diligence...I not once felt as if he were incompatant with my case. In face I was assured the first time I had a consultation with Carl that I was in good hands. This became factual when we walked o...ut of court with a victory...everything went my way as I had hope for, this was just recently on March 05, 2010. I could not have been anymore proud to have hired him as my lawyer.This is the fist time I have ever had to obtian one and in that said I thank Carl. Of cousre this could not have been possible without the assistane of his dedicated paralegal who I never had a problem with, Kelly, who by the way I find very educated ,kind, and friendly. Anytime I called my questions were answered without hesitation. This team is byfar nothing like what describes them in a previous blog. What can I say it didnt work out for you for a reason! Bottom line dont settle for any other lawyer when this is my testimony. Remeber you get what you pay for and when you need professionalism this is who to go with, its's worth it.

I should have paid attention to the red flags when I walked into his office building in La Mesa for my first appointment. There were stacks of papers everywhere and he was well over a half hour late without any apology. He had a rude overworked large woman trying to squeeze together the four jobs of ...a paralegal,secretary, book keeper and personal babysitter. As a result, she rarely answered the phone, was rude and irritable if you actually asked her do her job, her paperwork was sloppy, and minor details such as a court date might slip her mind. The only way she would actually answer your questions is by going into the office in person or sending her text messages... how professional. As for Mr. Hoppes himself, well, he is quite a charismatic fellow: animated, convincing at times, appears aggressive and in a slightly sleezy way, charming. He has a tendency to talk about himself a lot and go on tangents (which by the way, you are paying for). But in the court room he is a nightmare. He showed up over a half hour late (the judge asked for him to be called). He was disorganized frazzled and had no knowledge of my case. I was completely humiliated in front of my arch enemy, my ex-husband. Not exactly the type of experience I wanted to have my first time ever in the court room. On top of this, Mr. Hoppes forgot I was the petitioner and tried to argue with my ex's lawyer that I was the respondent when we were going to go sit in front of the judge. Terribly embarrassing! In the court room, he rambled, digressed and had irrelevant arguments to my case. I could have done a much better job! I felt not only embarrassed for myself, but for him, thinking he must be the laughing stock of the law community and I'm the idiot that fell for it. I highly do NOT recommend Mr. Hoppes. He is TERRIBLE and unprofessional. Save your money!
