You may want an attorney that files actions under FDCPA or FCRA (fair debt collections practices act/fair credit reporting act).

If everything was done property, whatever Chase does now, it should not be reflected in your credit report.

He probably does not owe you enough to make it worth your while to pursue it. If there are many people involved, then you guys can pool your money...

I've had that collectors calling me for years some as old as 15 years back tell them to calm down and stop but they still call

They can't take it directly if that's what you mean but they may be able to attach it if say, you deposit into a bank account they are...
